If you can stand watching six and a half minutes of some strangers chicks in the brooder.....Four Barred Rocks, and Four Buff Orphingtons, I think they are around two weeks old. Probably too early to tell sex yet, but if you can gander a guess........ Will I be lucky and get all pullets? I threw a piece of kale in the brooder to see if I could get a reaction, picked it back up after I was done. No grit available to the chicks, yet. They seemed a bit freaked out with sticking my hand with a cell phone in the brooder. Any other observations will be appreciated.

EDIT: new vid uploaded, chicks three weeks old.

    They are so cute!

The Buff Orpingtons all look like pullets so far, but I'm not sure on the Barred Rocks. I think Barred Rock cockerels' feathers are supposed to be lighter than the pullets' feathers, they have more white on them.
It does look like one of yours (one of the Barred Rocks) is a little lighter colored than the other three. [IMG]

It is a wood pellet bedding made for chickens, recommended by Wilco, $5 a 50lb bag.

The chicks are at 6 weeks, pullets or cockerels?
