A little background.......I have only had chickens for two years and just recently joined this forum in hopes to get other answers! I has been a great experience!
Now on to the reason of my concern......we had a hen 6 months ago that stopped laying and became very bloated, almost swollen looking. She had gotten so bad she would no longer roost and slept on the nesting boxes. Eventually she died. With 6 other healthy hens I tried not to stress over it. I didn't dismiss it all together, I just wanted to concentrate on the healthy ones. So recently I have picked up some more hens that needed some tender loving care. I go out this evening and one of the hens is laying in one of the laying boxes and appears a bit bloated Now I wonder......any ideas on what this may be?
