I went down to feed and water the birds this morning and found one of my girls lying behind the entrance door dead. There were no signs of damage to her and I honestly don't suspect foul play but this is the second bird in three months that has died and each of them in the exact same spot. Any thoughts as to why ?
Thanks all,

Chris.

Could it be a snake? I don't know if they would let the bird sit if it wound up being to big for them to eat

Sorry for your loss, hope you figure it out soon!

Just a little update, the first bird I lost had been unwell for a couple of days, I nursed her and popped her back in to join the flock. She appeared as normal, clucking away and scratching around like always but was dead the following morning. She did exhibit some signs of body damage but I figured that the others had been pecking at the carcass. I just find it strange that each of the poor things chose the same spot to wind up in. I will do a thorough search for a snake but I have yet to see more than two little Garters on our property this year.
