Were you running your temp a little higher than needed? Some of my large eggs hatched on day 19 due to this.

I was told on here when you use a still air incubator that the temp should be around a 99 to 101. Did your chicks that hatched early survive?

Have you ever checked your thermometer for accuracy? Still air is usually recommended at 101-102 with the temp being taken at the top of the eggs. Early hatchers usually signifies slightly higher average temps. Small eggs, like your banties are known to hatch a day or two early regardless.

Early hatchers USUALLY are perfectly fine. My bator usually ends up running a tad warm and mine normally hatch day 19/20. All perfectly fine, healthy. My last hatch my first internal pip was end of day 17 (silkies) and external pip and hatch day 18. The others followed day 19/20.

I have found that it seems like the earlier they pip the longer they sit between pip and zip. The cutie in my avatar was an early hatcher day 19.
