I have had my four hens; Sussex chickens, for three years now, and have experienced and overcome an egg bound chicken, helped out when my chooks were being bullied, and have given them many, many, nicknames!
The chickens are all different colours. Adelaide; she is my beautiful girl, is a buff Sussex and very calm. Jet; a Reddish-Brown fast little guy (a girl by the way but I address her as a boy!) Geoff: a grey Sussex, another girl and he is not ok with being handled. Marshmallow (or MsMarshy) is a white Sussex.
I have other animals such as a cat, dog, hermit crabs and snails. Nicknames for the chooks:
Bockens!
Bootiful Bockens
Geoffy-weffy
Miss Ady
Jetty-Wetty
