ok, 4 of my 19week old 'laying' hens sit happly on their roost. two prefer to just sit behind them on the floor (well, it's not quite floor, it's just beside the roost by a few inches) Then, i have two one and a half yr old EE's, one on a roost one off. So, my question is, i read all the time about training them to sit on roost... What is the reason for that? My only thought is that it may keep them from getting broody, but i really have no idea. Thanks for any info..
