Well I contacted the owner three days ago but got no reply. The bird is already showing interest in on of the hens. Has anyone else had random birds show up at their house?

Quote:Yes. It's usually young birds that see my pigeons and trap into the coop for a rest. I water and feed for a day or two, contact the owner through the band number and release the bird to go home. Most times the birds go home but every once in awhile they will stay. Unless you are willing to ship the bird by mail, you end up with a new bird. I end up with the bird unless the band owner wants to pay for shipping or lives close enough to meet up somewhere between us.

Yea, I won't ship because isn't it like a super crazy price or something?

One neighbor raises pigeons for racing, the other has 2 barns.....what the hawks dont take, the neighbor does. I dont know how he keeps going!

Hawks are the worst for him, we have had them chase them into our garage! A few I have returned to him ended up not being his so I would say having a stranger stop in is not uncommon.
