Hi my friends,

So, I’m still very emotional about losing my beautiful baby duckling this morning, and I got the lockdown incubator cleaned and ready for my 34 day old.
Upon candling for the last time I now see this bruise that was not there on Monday.
I can’t win!
Obviously, yet another baby is malpositioned and I don’t know if I can go through this again. 😢
All who have been following me know of my struggles.
What now???

Thank you all,
Amy

Amy I gave you full instructions on how to hatch this baby on your other post
Bruising needs a safety hole immediately
They can’t get air
Make the small hole then leave that egg alone for 24 hours
Don’t take it out for any reason. After 24 hours make the hole a bit bigger ( dime size ) see the beak is there then leave it be another 24 hours
Don’t open the bator or chip any shell off before then
Last time you took to much to soon and he was able to push up
This time have lots of patients

I know it's hard after just losing one, but a safety hole at the bruise is so important

Take a deep breath and go slow

Any update this morning? Did you make the safety hole?

Good morning,

Made a very small safety hole and nothing is happening.
Today is day 35.
So that’s definitely a bruise and it’s definitely malpositioned?

I can’t believe this is happening AGAIN!
What’s going on here? 😢

This baby will take 48-72 hours after the safety hole
So dont rush this process
Yoy shouldn’t see anything for a few days
As long as air can get in the baby will now breath and absorb

We told you, the eggs aren't good quality to hatch from, that's why you're having so many problems
There could be other things going wrong in incubation too

It definitely looks like another malposition, be patient, baby needs days to absorb

Thank you,

It’s day 36. I put the safety hole and had good luck with getting it right over the beak.
He’s picking at it a bit and made it a little bigger. I can see his beak now a tiny bit.
I don’t think he’ll be able to hatch by himself though.

You've done well
How long ago did you make the safety hole?

How many eggs do you have that are hatching at different times?
Hi!

Right now I have 10 eggs and 3 ducklings. 2 weeks, 9 days and 4 days.
So im going to be stressing until the end of April because my oldest are from March 21st.
My female finally stopped laying, thank God! 🥰

Here is my incubator. It’s a very good one, so I guess her eggs are very bad. But the ducklings are perfect!
