Accident happens

    I accidendly stepped on my 2 weeks old
    chick in one second his right eye
    got really big like it was going two
    pop out and went all black and his
    left eye is fine he walks fine please
    tell me what to do

    Just watch him to see how he does. If he doesn't have an injury requiring antibiotic ointment, then the only thing you can do is monitor him.

    Unfortunately they do get underfoot and these things happen. Long term if he can see out of one eye he will be fine- he will be able to eat. Just keep in mind that he may be more prone to being bullied if he gets new and bullyish flockmates later on when he is older, and will possibly be more vulnerable to predation by hawks if he can't see as well.

    There are many chickens out there who are blind in one eye and do just fine! And maybe his eye will heal up...I don't know.
