accident with goat update: I think she is going into labor

I guess she is done after the placenta there was a long string of amber goo like before the first baby but shes not pushing so I guess that means we are through?

It's not necessarily true that each baby will have its own placenta.. I've read that triplets can have 1, 2, or 3 placentas, where one may have its own and two others share one, or each has its own, or they all three share, etc.. If I'm not mistaken, though, I think it's more common that multiples share a large placenta rather than each having its own. That's been my experience, too..

As in, baby...baby...baby...one afterbirth...then she's done.

Funny thing is, I've never really thought much about it until now. I do remember sorta curiously looking at the placenta after one of ours had triplets, though, and noting to my wife that you could see where each of the three tiny cords were attached.

If she passed placenta and seems to be done pushing, and if the baby's up and nursing...I'd say all's well.

(I assume she healed up OK from her previous injury?)

Well finally had time to get on here again. Baby is doing fine he has got nursing down really well now. She never pushed anymore after passing the placenta. On her side where her previous injury is she hasnt grown any hair back but other than that it looks great. She is been back to her normal self for quite some time, so I knew something was up this morning when she was away from the others. I didnt have time to get the pics tonight it was too dark by the time I got back home. I will add them in the morning

The new momma is the goat that tore her side open? Wow...they are tough little buggers!
Congrats!
