So you meant to say that they are legal?I looked into our ordinances for chickens and we don’t have any - no limit to the amount you can have and no rooster ordinance.
but roosters are technically illegal
I’ve thought about putting a fan in their coop and closing the windows overnight so he doesn’t wake them in the morning. We’ve also thought about putting curtains up to block the light in the early hours but not sure if these things will really help.
In order to block sound you'll have to block ventilation......which is not a good idea.I’ve thought about putting a fan in their coop and closing the windows overnight so he doesn’t wake them in the morning. Mrs. K, Is your avatar a Swedish flower rooster? Kinda looks like mine.Roosters crow, and a long ways away, can be a pleasant thing, but under your window, dang irritating.
I love chickens, and I would not want a rooster outside my house.
Roosters crow, you are not really going to change that.
I looked into our ordinances for chickens and we don’t have any - no limit to the amount you can have and no rooster ordinance. Can you still get in trouble if there are no ordinances?
After I thought they were technically illegal I went back and read the city ordinances and was incorrect - roosters are never addressed but there is a noise ordinance which I am assuming he would fall under. I think we are going to try bringing him inside at nighttime and see if that helps! So you meant to say that they are legal?
