We got our replacements from Ideal for losses in the first order. We lost both of our little SLW cockerels and two pullets. Well, the replacements (along with a TON of packing peanuts) arrived this morning. Everyone seems in fine health. However, they didn't mark which of the four SLW babies are males. All I can do is keep my fingers xed that two of them ARE males. Dang it. There's no way to tell this early on.
ALL of the RRR packing peanuts have little pointy ridges on their beaks, but NONE of the SWLs do. I don't know if this means anything...I seem to recall that SLWs are rosecombs anyway so who knows.
How long do you think it'll be before I can tell a cockerel from a pullet?
