    That is funny and true!
Here in our country we are "dumbing down" our schools... Used to be that smart kids were encouraged to achieve and others had to work hard to keep up. Now we aim to teach somewhere in the middle so all kids can be equal.... Think about it....

    "That is SO funny!!!"

And so true. We talk about the dumbing down of education, yet look in the mirror, because many of "us" are the ones driving it. Parents want to blame anyone but themselves or their children. When a teacher does try to enforce standards and make children actually learn, s/he is vilified and parents line up to transfer the child out of that class. The ones who have the guts to stay with that teacher end up applauding the teacher's efforts. Teachers can no longer expect that the children in their classes recognize that they are there to learn and have to pay attention, so they have to come up with "inspirational strategies" to make the children pay attention; charts with frogs jumping higher on lily pads as the child accomplishes something, and that kind of cutesy nauseating stuff. Only makes the cost of construction paper go higher.
