We are new to the chicken world. We bought 3 chicks about 3 almost 4 weeks old from the feed store. They didn't have a breed we wanted to get in stock but we saw some there today picking up some food. If we got these 3 chicks Monday would they have established a pecking order within the 5 days they have been together? There hasn't been much pecking or fighting or anything but one definitely rules the feeder. The new one would only be 2 weeks old. Would you keep it sperated before introducing them or have the 3 chicks not been together long enough to establish who's queen bee anyway? Or is adding another one at this point more of a headache then it is worth. Thanks for any help!

Thank you! I went and picked up the chick today and they are doing great, they didn't even bat an eye at a new addition. Thanks again for your help!

Yeah, adding them that early is perfectly all right.
But if you add more when they're older,
be really careful with diseases and the pecking order.
