Hey guys! I just moved my 5 week old chicks out of the brooder into a 10x10 coop. I also have some 3 week old chicks that I’d like to put in with them, but I wasn’t sure if I could. Should I give the 3 week old chicks a couple more weeks in the brooder with a heat lamp? I thought I could put them all together to get use to being a real flock, and just angle the heat lamps into the 10x10 coop so the younger chicks could get warm if needed. I live in NC. Thanks!

I'd probably hold off on putting in the 3 week olds until they can do without heat (so another week or two). Integrating chicks with chicks is fairly easy so there shouldn't be the same sort of pecking order issues you'd have with adults.

Yes that’s what I decided to do. Another couple weeks in the brooder for the 3 week olds. I’m just excited about them all being together I guess. Lol! Thank you!
