Hello
I am fairly new to raising chickens, we rescued 6 hens, one of them has a leg injury, the previous owner told me she was born like that. She eats fine, gets around alright, just a little slow. Looks like her hip may be dislocated, and her foot is turned upwards. I just want to know if she is in any pain and if there is anything I can do for her. She is about a year old I am told.

She has a leg bone deformity twisted tibia. There is no treatment. It is hard to know if she is pain, but it must be hard to get around normally. Some are not able to get around well enough to get enough to eat and drink and survive. Many chickens with these deformities are put down at an early age, but if she can get around well enough, she deserves a chance to live out her life if you are able to take care of her.

When I was a little girl someone gave us a rooster we named Super chicken. His feet were fused when he was given to us, I think they called it "club feet" but I don't remember if it happened to him, or he was born with it. He did every thing a normal chicken would do, and his feet never bothered him.

Thank you so much! She has been with us about a week, and she seems to get around better and better as time goes on. She gets on well with the rest of the flock, and this morning she really enjoyed the yogurt I have them on for a week or so, she got right in there with the rest of them! We will spoil her rotten and always make sure she gets plenty to eat.
