I am in 4-H and I was thinking about doing a meat turkey for fair next year. I have never done a meat animal, but next year I want to do meat rabbits and maybe meat turkeys. But, I have some questions. . . . . 1. When should I get the poults? My fair is normally the last week of August. This year it was 8/30 to 9/2. 2. What type of housing should they have? I am thinking 2-3 turkeys. 3. What type of food should they have until fair and how often should I feed them? 4. What should they weigh at the fair? 5. What other information should I know about taking turkeys to the fair? Additional info: I am thinking Broad Breasted White Turkeys.
