Hi there, just after some advice on what is best for my (nearly) 7 yr old mini silver appleyard girlie. Her best bud died today and she has been calling out for her.

There is a local farm which will prob take her with their existing ducks but I wanted to know if this is best for her at her age. I guess I am concerned she will die of shock if I move her but also that she could die alone here.

    Advice would be welcomed.

I'd make sure the people you give her to are aware of her age and that they'll introduce her properly to their existing flock. Or you could see if they would be willing to give you one or two and move them to her and see if they get along.

I would take it slowly. If she has been raised with lots of human contact and one buddy, life on a farm could be hard on her. It depends on the farm.

Please get to know how they operate. You might indeed do better to get a buddy or two for her.

In the meantime, an unbreakable mirror can help comfort her, as well as your attention when you can.
