Good news, went outside to let the BR's out, followed by the Silkie/Buff mix. They all rush out like crazy as usual.
So I go into the building to top off food/water and say hi to Sheba our broody hen when i hear cheeps. i stop to listen thinking it is outside, but no go over to Sheba to find she has hatched the 1st of 3 eggs she is sitting. it looks like a grey or white silkie chick. So, my question is do I remove the chick or leave it in with momma hen? It is the first time we have had a broody hen and let her hatch it out....
Or how do I give her a seperate area? Maybe bring her inside in to a stock tank i have been using for brooder box.
