Hey i have 2 eggs that are due to hatch in 1 weeks time so i have ordered chick feeder food and im just wondering when should you feed chicks grit? Do u mix it with their food from the beginning or should i wait a few days?

Chick food is ground into a powder. so you do not need the grit yet.

kl thx for the info. Ive ordered everything anyways so i will have it when i need it. I read that you feed then the chick for for about 6 - 8 weeks so i guess its when they move onto the adult food is when you should start?

Unless I am hatching more chicks I feed the chick starter until its gone. I mix the last 2 cups with the first 2 cups from the grower to transition them into the new food then I do the same when I move them to layer feed.

Do baby chicks need food and water immediately after hatching? My friend said to leave them in incubator for a couple days that they don't need food or water??? Is this true?
