Our newest ducklets will 5wks this Sat. We're considering moving them to be part of the flock come next week when there 6wks? would this sound about right? Currently there kept in in a cage placed inside our night time housing along side the other ducks and we have had them in a 'playpen' outside where the older ducks can be right beside.. so they somewhat 'know' them.

The current flock is two drakes, two hens and there 14wks as of yesterday.

Quote:I'd try putting them together during outside foraging, maybe with some treats. That way if the older ones start to mess with the younger ones you can intervene, there will be some pecking so don't intervene to quickly, just make sure they can get away if need be or you can intervene if it starts to get out of hand.

Ok sounds good! we had major rain the other day and set the little ones in the playpen near a puddle the others were out free ranging and all ran over.. so they were essentially all playing the in the same puddle with just the fencing between them.
