Age to cull?

[I have WHAT in my yard?]

I have ten mixed breed chicks and one barred rock is definitely a roo! So he's dinner. At what age should I do the deed?

He won't be much for frying IMHO.

I have too mixed heavy breed roosters now that are about 3 months old.

They are aptly named Chicken and Dumpling
So come January or so they will live up to their name.

So if you can put up with crowing I would wait until he is at least 6 months old and make some type of dish that requires slow, long simmering such as chicken-n-dumplings.

January sounds good. A nice winter slow cooked chicken should be delightful....... the little booger bit me today. Give me a few months and I'll get back at YOU my pretty!!! BWAHAHAHA!
