What would the typical age for silkies to begin laying?

    Thank you Dawn.
The reason why I asked is because I found a soft shelled egg today that a silkie may have laid. My silkies are 19-20 weeks though.

Quote:Glad you asked this question because I have a silkie chick that will be 16 weeks old Friday, and I was thinking about asking the question myself.

Edit: I'm not sure whether or not it's a hen.

Well, if she lays, you're gonna be pretty sure! Hope it's what you want it to be!!!

My motto is: If they lay, they stay. If they crow, they go.
