How long are chickens supposed to live?
We've had chickens for three years now and they're really fun.
I would like to know how long they live

joebwe....well....there are a few people on here that have hens as old as 16 years! it all depends on the care of the chicken. Im sure they dont lay that well after a few years tho.

The world record is around 20. However, that is extremely unusual, and the average age for a backyard chicken, barring disease and predators is 5-8 years.
