as long as blood isn't drawn its normal behavior. They need to establish their place in the pecking order.

Ok Thanks but she sure looks like she will kill them and what if blood is drawn any options besides getting rid of one.

How old are these chicks? Yes, it's normal BUT you should never put a really young chick in with grown hens unless they have a broody hen protecting them. I have an 11 week old pullet I am having to integrate into a flock (BRs, coincidentally) and one is especially vicious, but then, she is the bottom of the pecking order and it's normal for a hen that low to be brutal to a newbie. She doesn't want to be at the bottom anymore and she's making sure the newbie knows her place. I never put chicks in with adults until they have some real size on them or they can be hurt.

Give them a place they can get away from the hens. I put a special single roost up for my youngster so she can get away from the harassment.

I used a large wire dog kennel you put the younger chick in there and they kind of get used to each other. Keep her closed in for a while. Then open it but make it to where she can get in but the bigger hen cannot. That way she has a place to get away if it gets bad.
