This is my first time to raise chicks so I am not very informed on normal chick behavior. I have one 2 week old Naked Neck, one 3 week Brahma, one 3 week Dorking, one 3 week Australorp and one 4 week Deleware. Since the beginning the Deleware has been at the top of the pecking order. Even though she is top hen she has been friendly towards me so far. Recently she has started biting me when I try and pick her up. Not an inquisitive peck but a bite, I am used to all of them gently pecking me but she has started to peck hard. I have read horror stories about Delewares being very aggressive when they get older, even killing other birds. Should I be concerned? Does anyone have any advice on what to do to stop the biting?
