I love spring. I get to hatch out a bazillion chicks for everybody, turn the chickens loose to keep the bug population down before summer comes, and trick young kids into thinking easter arrived early so they help me look for where the hens are hiding their eggs in the newly-grown under brush, after being penned up most of the winter.
So who all is expecting a big hatch this year and/or big arrival from a hatchery? Personally, I'm excited about some sebastopol goose eggs that I ordered LAST year, and the lady never actually forgot me despite a year passing by! And for waiting so long, she is sending about twice as many eggs, now! Unfortunately, it means one of my incubators will be off limits to chicke.n eggs. But the other will still be cranking out the little fuzzy butts!
