My bird, Aiolos, is being exposed to his new flockmates (who are still young and have not been named yet). Those flockmates were quarantined for over two months. I thought it was safe to start introduction, especially since the new hens have no symptoms. They're also still eating medicated starter.
Anyway, tonight when I was taking Aiolos from the chicken tractor to the coop I noticed horrible, possibly pox, and scabs that I thought couldn't possibly have been there yesterday. I swear he didn't have them! In any case, I really need to know what to do and if anyone can help me diagnose this problem. Please let me know what I can do to help him!

They could be peck wounds. If fowl pox they will continue to get worse. Fowl pox is transmitted by mosquitoes, so dump standing water often to cut down on them.

I live next to a couple of ponds. I can't do anything about the mosquitoes. :'( he was alone in the tractor because we have two roos. The tractor has hardware cloth on it, so he couldn't have been pecked to the best of my knowledge. Thank you for your help.

The tan colored lesions look like Fowl Pox. I see a bit of mucous(?) at the nostrils - what does the inside of his beak look like?

Dry Fowl Pox that is uncomplicated will usually resolve on it's own in several weeks.

The dried black "stuff" looks like dried blood/scabs - could be from rubbing on the wire, picking, etc.
