The snakes are really out here in Alabama and this one got into my young chicken coop the other day. I am not sure what it is but it was about 6ft long. And it was caught eating one of my oegb pullets. received_325468178142451.jpeg

Where are you in AL? I'm north of Huntsville, near the state line. I haven't seen big snakes like that in a long time! I carry a 6 shooter for snakes, .22 shorts. Usually when I see the snake, it has an egg in its mouth and I can get close to take a good shot.

:eek:Wow. I might be afraid to go out at night with those things roaming around and I'm not afraid of snakes.

  4. Wow! What do you guys think it is? It so big! Could it be an introduced
    Constrictor of some kind?

Are you sure you're not in TEXAS? That's a mighty big snake!
Honestly, though. That's what happens when people turn their outgrown or unwanted pets loose to fend for themselves. What a shame for everybody ... including both you AND the snake!

  7. And sorry about your pullet. For the sake of education do you know how it got in?
