Being the Itunes addict that I am and also an Alan Jackson fan I
came across his album of old country gospel classics. I had to buy
it even though gospel is not something I'm familiar with. Anyhow,
it's a WONDERFUL album.

I'm sure a lot of these songs are Sunday regulars for many churches.
A few are sung by the choir at mine, just not with the awesome country
flavor that Alan adds to it.

I heard rumors that he was going to make another one with yet more old hymns. I hope so. I love the first album, especially because he just sings the songs and doesn't mess with them. It's like being in my Grandmother's church back a few decades ago.

The story I heard is that he made that CD for his mom for Christmas one year and only made a few of them. Somebody got ahold of it and it was instantly in HUGE demand. It's a great CD.

Yes it was great. We had that album playing at our wedding while everyone was arriving and getting seated

Mr. Jackson is a deep believer in Christ and all things family and traditional. He loved his mother dearly and made the album for her. His PBS special was aired for two weeks or thereabouts. It was recorded in a church.

His wife's book is amazing too. Tells the journey of seperation and healing and getting back together through Christ. Denise Jackson.

That's a good point and one of the things I love about him in everything
he sings. Like him or not he's a real and honest performer.
