Alaskans??

OK I really need to talk to an Alaskan, it seems like no one understands like, I can't shoot the raven eating my chickens, or how hard it is to get cool chickens. I'm going crazy, like how well does our coop need to be insulated, or what breeds do well at -40?

Where are you at in Alaska? I grew up in Anchorage and have lived in Homer, Cordova and Kodiak Island. I retired from the Coast Guard 4 years ago and moved down here to Alabama and I sure do miss it up there. One of these days I want to move back up there when I can afford the move back up.

There is a BYC member that lives up there in Fairbanks that has chickens. I forgot her name but there are other Alaska posts on here, you may have to scroll thru a few pages to find them though.
