I heard at our local farm store that you could feed alfalfa to chickens. I went to pet store and got a bag for guinea pigs. This stuff is very dry, will the chickens eat like that or should I soak it in water?

Is it loose or pellets? Loose you can just throw it in dry. Pellets if they are small enough they might eat them as is, but soaking them will make them more appealing. If yo do wet them don't go overboard until you know how much they will eat in a day, you don't want it to go bad.
