I don't know. I just know they are evil right now.
Are they ALL evil? I have a girl or two that hiss at me sometimes this time of year. Only the boys do the "wing fluffing" though.
I am not sure. This is my first year with them. I have 4. Two are always in the front and behind them. They bite my broom and hiss.
They used to be sooo sweet. I still love them though.
The ganders are the ones that goose and fig said flap their wings at you and threaten you. Females will hiss but the gander will put their neck down and come after you. Yes, this is normal for breeding pairs to do. Your ganders will be larger than the females and will have a somewhat longer neck and bigger in size than females.......
I still don't have any eggs. Could they all be boys?
How old are they? I'm in NJ, and it has been pretty miserable weather up until lately. My 1 yr old female started laying around the beginning of March, along with her mama. I'd think with you being in Va, any females old enough would be laying by now...
Glenmar if you do not have any eggs by this time you might just have all males. There is still time until maybe June. If no eggs by then you have all ganders.
