Hubby's always worried about the gender of our four chicks (and I didn't want to pay for DNA tests for 4!) so I told him I'd post some photos and see if anyone can see anything that I'm not seeing. All chicks are exactly 1 day short of 8 weeks old.
1) Easter Egger - This one I'm most iffy about. Comb started pinking up at around 4 weeks, however there isn't 3 distinct rows of peas. The comb hasn't gotten any redder or larger since. There's orange on the wings but it doesn't look like the deep rusty color associated with males?
2) Easter Egger - Other than the fact that she's unusually friendly, I see nothing physical that would indicate this is a boy.
3) Speckled Sussex - Super thick legs! Otherwise comb is still small and mostly yellow. Is it possibly a late blooming cockerel, or just a girl with meaty legs?
4) Black Copper Marans - I see nothing that would indicate this is a boy.
