The first time I ever saw a chicken "laid" out on the ground, sunning, I though they were dead!
I'm sure I'm not the only one to panic that first time. Heck, I still look at them and get freaked out sometimes the way they sprawl themselves out.
Before our deep freeze set in, there were some pretty nice days and a couple of my young Araucana's were laid out and I have to say, I took a second look. They weren't only sprawled out, they were heaped up together like it was a double chicken massacre,
They piled themselves up against a block and were sunning like a couple of beach bums and didn't even open an eye as I ran in to get the camera then turned it on and snapped this shot.
