Ah, thank you! I found out shortly after I posted what it was, I have 4 of the plants with 2 of them flowering, I could tell they were lilies but I looked it up and it took me an eon to find Spider Lilies!

Blossom- You're right, I am in Guam which is right next to the PI and Japan, which after some reasearch is where this gorgeous flower originated!

Maybe its a case of others dont believe the originalm IDer, and want to put in a guess as to what they think it is. I know its not Dandylion(survives very well in my planting zone), but back to a chicken question is it good for my chickens to eat a spider lilly????

aren't lilies one of the ones that is on the harmful to cats list? does something with their livers.

if it's harmful to cats... then wouldn't you think that would pertain to all living creatures with livers?

I have a grande size clump of them, I had no idea anyone would covet them. Maybe I'll dig em up and offer them for eggs

There are so many 'poisonous' plants, it's not funny. Do you grow tomatoes? Peppers? Eggplants? Potatoes? All of their foliage is poisonous.

First off, these flowers aren't 'lilies'. If you bring lilies into the house to a housebound cat you could have a problem - outside cats aren't going to bother with them, there's grass and other things that taste better to them, if they're going to bother with plants at all - their carnivores and plants aren't on their diet list! The point is keep poisonous plants away from indoor cats, teach children what to put into their mouths, and be aware of what's growing around you - but don't be afraid of having lilies in your garden.

I saw some of these on the side of the road yesterday. They appeared to be growing wild...they just stood in a couple of random bunches beside a field. I felt awfully smart when I was able to identify them thanks to this post.

I want to find out who the field belongs to so that I can get some of my own.
