I went out to let the ducklets out this morning and Cadbury did her normal try to fly through the little window in their house thing (it's covered, no way out, but she still tries every day). They were all chattering away. I open the door and Ally and Cadbury hop out. Look in and Blue's sitting in a bin. She finally got up and hopped out. Under here was the nest with 3 eggs in it.

    They are beautiful eggs! Congratulations.

I got my first duck egg today too!

What are you using for nest material - that looks very natural?

They've been laying about a month, but it's the first time I've seen anybody sitting on the eggs when I let them out in the morning.

I rake up the pine straw and oak leaves in the back yard and use that as bedding. Free. And plentiful [IMG]
They seem to have pulled all the pine straw from one of the other bins and put it into their nest bin as one bin was just all leaves this morning and a very thin layer, not like I'd put in there yesterday after I cleaned the bins.
