We've been furiously working to finish our coop and it's finally ready (except the digging predator apron around the run portion---working on that). We've had the chicks out there the last two days during the day and they seem happy as clams.

I brought them in last night because we had a babysitter but tonight....I think my babies are ready but I'm a wreck! The coop is secure but it's a little windy, low 50s tonight.

Reassure me, reassure me!!

By the way we have two Buff orps and two black Australorps. All female. In Dallas. Urban backyard setting.

We went out there at almost dark (we were putting a last minute second latch on) and while they were waiting, they were chattering like crazy like "hello we need to go to bed! Help us!" When we finally got the latch done and put them in the coop, they seemed so relieved to know where to sleep! Poor babies. We kept them waiting a bit long with the latch.

Quiet in there now.
