I posted something about this last week but still curious. My girls are just starting to lay. Just about every egg i have used has had a blood spot in it? Is this because they are just starting to lay or d i need to change something? I rehomed my guineas yesterday because they were being bullies and I've turned off the coop light at night. Hope this helps

If the guineas were really harassing them, that may very well have been the problem. If so things should clear up in a weak or so.

How many hours was the coop light usually on at night and for how long had it been on?

Blood or also called meat spots in eggs is lining of egg duct incorporated into the egg before it's shelled. Not at all uncommon for pullets starting to lay to be working through these little kinks. Perfectly fine to eat but I usually try to get that part out as it's a mental thing for me.

It will clear up.
