My name is Synnora and we have a small free-range flock of very spoiled chickens on the beach. We rescued about 7 feral hens that appear to be Sumatra mixes and terrible layers and another 2 Old English hens that lay about 3 a week. We assume due to the huge population of cockfighting cultures here that these are the cast off from fighting groups.
I also have some super spoiled fat heritage breeds. Barred rock, buff Orpington, easter eggers and red sexlink. They all lay pretty consistently.
We sell our eggs to keep rescuing the hens that seem to always find their way to our house.
Feeding these freedloaders is expensive.
