Am I a bad mom? Last night I took out my two silkie chicks, put them on a towel and curled up with them in my bed .....and I fell asleep with them next to my head. I mean, I didn't roll over on them and crush them and both are still alive, but still, does that make me a bad mom?

I wouldn't do that, just for the fear of rolling over on them. Glad they're ok!

well I didn't mean to fall asleep I meant to just curl up with them and read a book, but then, it was 4:00 in the morning.

No, your not a bad mom. That just means you love them. :) (But, sense you love them, for their safety, I would not do that anymore. :p) Glad they are ok!

A bad mom? I don't think so. Maybe a little weird. My chickens don't get in the house, much less in or on my bed!

I think she means she took two of the chicks from the indoor broody....

The fact that you care enough to ask this question should tell you that you will make a great mom to your chickens, as the earlier poster said, not sure if I would have them in my bed. You might wake up in a pile of poop, Just sayin' :)

I had a towel under them and on me. The mom wouldn't accept her babies so in they went. one is a little heat addled because when she hatched there was a slight problem with the heat lamp and it was at 120 degrees so she is my special one and the other the mom just wouldn't take. And we have a kitten. And it is really cold out also. So they go to move into my bedroom, I have to sleep in summer pajamas now because my room is somewhere in the 80's.

thanks. I still don't understand how a white silkie mom and a black silkie dad got rainbow chicks.
