hi I was wondering if I could show blue jersey giants because I am in 4-H and the mane colors are black and white so can someone tell me because I do not want to get DQ from the fair
Yes you can show them. If the color isnt recognized it can only get best of variety and not go any further. The only way they would get DQ'd is if they have a general/breed DQ
You can show them. The color is in fact recognized, if someone told you otherwise it is likely because A) they read only what hatcheries sell or B) they have an old Standard of Perfection book.
If you had a bird with a non-recognized color but everything else about the bird matched the breed standard and qualifications, you won't get disqualified, as long as you show it as an AOV colored bird. (all other varieties) However in 4H I don't think they actually judge based on the Standard, it's just a fun and showmanship kinda thing.
