Well here I am yet again wondering if I have a Cockerel on my hands. I’m pretty sure I know the answer but wanted some expert opinions. This Ameraucana is almost six weeks old. I know the standard wait for Ameraucana is about 10 weeks before you can for sure know. But this feathered baby started sporting a very pink comb last week. It’s also larger than the other chicks I have. Any guesses? DAF05A78-482D-4662-93F8-CD62D51FB510.jpeg D31AB033-128C-4E21-A7B2-C960B94AD3C7.jpeg

It doesn't look like a cockerel to me now but it definitely could still be one at this early of an age. Give it a few more weeks and try again.

I’ll try getting better photos tomorrow.
It’s the flightiest bird I have so getting any decent photos is a bit challenging.

I’ll post more photos in a few weeks. We were hoping for a hen but will be pleased either way.

  7. I think it might be a cockerel, but I’m not an expert.
