Ameracauna comb

Hi! Im new here. We have 9 chickies, 7 of whom are definitely hens, now laying eggs.

Two of them are Ameracaunas, raised from chicks. One, Lucy, has a very low pea comb and just layed her first egg today! The other, Primrose (Everdeen) started growing a comb about 6-8 weeks ago, it stayed low for a while, like a strawberry comb, but has started inflating a bit. I've been expecting it to increase in size and flatten out, along with some roo-style tail feathers, but nothing is happening. Could Prim be a hen and not roo, as I suspect? Their combs are the only visual difference between them.

Both are Easter Egger pullets.

Agreed, both are pullets. And Easter Eggers, rather than Ameraucanas. Just lovely.

You have Easter Eggers. They can have any type of comb and coloring varies. Although a lot of the colors & patterns are common.

Thanks everyone! Fingers crossed for an egg from Prim soon...we're all getting antsy! Lucy's eggs are a lovely minty blue-green, can't wait to see what color P's are.
