Next 2 I have trouble with are Cinnamon and India. Cinnamon has always been much redder, a bit more aggressive and dominant and seems to have thicker leggs.

YAY! Nobody had started crowing but Cinnamon always worried me , lol. So are Easter Eggers a variety of the ameracauna? We were told they were that but I have found most feed stores really don't have a clue about breeds, lol.

They are basically a mixed breed bird that is supposed to carry the blue egg gene.

Quote:Congrats on your EE girlies! Unfortunately feed stores love to mislable their birds when it comes to this breed. EEs are actually a mutt breed with no standard, so hatcheries can get quite creative with them. Ameraucanas were developed out of EEs, but they are VERY strictly regulated as far as what color they can be, and what they can look like.

Basically you can tell which is which, without getting overly complicated, by just knowing that if it comes from a feedstore or hatchery, it's an EE. If it came from a respectable Ameraucana breeder, and cost a bit more, it's an Ameraucana.
