Out of the dozen beautiful blue BBS Ameraucana eggs I incubated, I have 2 live chicks, now 2 weeks old. They are beautiful, but I'm wondering if their temperments are typical: They are flighty, noisy, and aggressive. One I have been thinking is a roo since day one. By 3 days old he was posturing and doing the roo aggression dance and kicking his hatchmates. And is HUGE. WAY bigger than the other Am or the sex-links I have who are about the same age.

Is this typical? They are quite mean to the other chicks and, much as I really wanted them as layers, I may have to find homes if this behavior doesn't improve!
Thanks!

I have several Ameraucanas of the BBS variety. Three of them are complete lap chickens, asking to be held, tugging at your pants if you don't pay attention to them. One of my blues is more standoffish, but she has her friendly moments. Overall, mine are the sweetest birds I have.

Oh, Im really sorry. that's too bad. No, that's not typical, usually they are
quite dear, exceptions to everything I guess. I hope they mellow so you can have their pretty eggs.
