Now, we are keeping our fingers crossed on our Lavs (from Crystal Creek) that are due for LD on Jan 2nd. New Years Babies!

After candling 14 out of 15 seem to be developing nicely, as I was informed by my local hatching Guru (aka. Cari).

Speaking of the Wheaties, has anyone else noticed that some of the chicks down tend to be a lighter color (almost whitish) whereas the others have yellow hue to them? My first thought was well maybe the lighter ones are WB and the darker one maybe the W.

Any thoughts or feedback from the experts?

Just got off of the phone with Boston. Geoffrey died today. Makes me sad. Glad I have two of his beautiful sons that will be getting decrowed in January... and I'm getting eggs from WMR next week where one of Geoffrey's gorgeous sons is a Blue Wheaten daddy.

So... Geoffrey will live on. Thought you'd want to know Jean.
