I purchased this bird from a local hatchery that sells both breeds at a day old. I cant remember which breed I bought, can you help me identify it? I know its supposed to be one or the other. Its 4 months old.

Neither. It's an Easter Egger. And it's a cockerel.

x2- It looks like a male Easter Egger, with what looks to be some Rhode Island Red in him.

Well crap... he was supposed to either be an araucana or ameraucana. At least thats how he was sold. Now I know why I was having trouble figuring out his breed, he wasnt either of the breeds I was looking up the characteristics for! Thanks for the info!!!!

No Hatchery sells pure Araucanas, or Ameraucanas. They just sell mislabled EEs.

Some hatcheries do have Ameraucana, but they only have Blue/Black/Splash or Black. And the variety is always specified.

In addition if you buy a real Ameraucana from a hatchery, you will be paying more, something like 15 and up.
