Hi there all, I have a 2 year old americana hen that has been VERY healthy. Last Sunday we noticed a prolpsed vent. We treated her and have been giving warm baths daily. She is happy, eating and pooping normally. She is alone and away from the other hens and roo. Her vent seems fine...however, she seems full and swollen all underneath the vent. She has no feathers there so I can see that she is a bit red. Yes, we have checked for an egg several times and we can't feel one. Can the prolapse cause this full swelling? She is on antibiotic and is acting FINE!!! She wants to be with her friends. I just can't let her out yet, I think it's too soon. Really worried about swelling. She does not have an outwardly growth or anything like that.
Please help! We love this little girl.
    Thanks,
    Carolina (friendly feathers)
