Ameruacana or Araucana??? Rooster or Hen???

    Can anyone tell me if this is an ameruacana or an
    araucana and if it is a rooster or a hen???

    Well, Araucanas are rumpless (no tails) and have tufts instead of muffs or beards like Ameraucanas and Easter Eggers. I am guessing yours is an Easter Egger... but I can't say for sure. I'm sure better qualified people will come along and answer this for you . Beautiful bird!!! Very pretty coloring! [​IMG]

    A 5 month old chicken will have pretty obvious roo/hen signs... I can't see the picture (stupid router) but either way you should know soon - you'll either get an egg or a crow within the next few weeks!

    My vote would be a hen but only because my EE rooster crowed at 8 weeks old.
